Keeping Your Youth With Cynosure®

3 Minute Read:

Wrinkles, sagging skin, and pigmentation issues can be a problem for many people looking to maintain a youthful glow. While there are many non-surgical treatments available for men and women hoping to minimize these common signs of aging, most treatments only target one condition (such as only wrinkles or only pigmentation concerns).

However, laser treatments with the Cynosure® Icon™ can do more. These laser rejuvenation treatments can target a myriad of different skin conditions to counteract aging skin, improve skin clarity, and help patients feel better about the skin they are presenting to the world.

What Is Cynosure® Icon™ and Why Is It for Me?

The Cynosure® Icon™ is a state-of-the-art cosmetic laser platform with multiple capabilities. It combines an intense pulsed light (IPL), which can be used for numerous issues, with an Erbium fractional 1540 nanometer-wavelength laser.

For this reason, this technology offers a diverse range of options. Some of the treatments performed with the ICON include:

  • Skin rejuvenation and tightening
  • Brown spot reduction
  • Tattoo removal
  • Rosacea treatments
  • Vascular lesion treatment
  • Hair removal
  • Pigment lesion removal
  • And much more

The Cynosure® Icon™ platform has also been engineered to allow patients to achieve optimal skin health while still being able to address specific cosmetic concerns.

What Makes Cynosure® So Beneficial?

As seen from the list above, the Cynosure® Icon™ laser is basically a one-stop-shop when it comes to skin renewal and rejuvenation. Not many laser technologies can be used to treat as many different concerns as this platform can.

Whether you are looking to smooth aging skin or address pigmentation concerns caused by sun damage or conditions like rosacea, this laser treatment can be beneficial for you.

It can also help reduce leg veins and remove tattoos, making it a full-body treatment.

How Often Are Cynosure® Icon™ treatments?

Treatments are performed every four to six weeks on an average of six to eight sessions, depending on your individual needs. You might need more if you’re treating acne or stretch marks.

What Should I Expect During My Cynosure® Icon™ Treatment?

Your Cynosure® Icon™ treatment will begin with a consultation with our laser aesthetician. Together, you’ll review your treatment protocol and go over any questions you might have.

When it’s time to start the treatment, your skin will be prepped and you’ll be given special eye shields or glasses to protect your eyes during the procedure. Our aesthetician will then enter the correct parameters into the Icon™ machine to treat you based on your skin type and treatment protocols.

Most treatments take only around an hour and require little or no downtime after they are done.

Is Cynosure® Icon™ Laser Good for Dark Skin?

Yes! The Cynosure® Icon™ laser is good for dark skin — which is far from common. The laser was specifically developed to treat the widest variety of skin types, including very light and very dark skin.

How Much Does it Cost for a Cynosure® Icon™ Procedure?

While these are the average costs of an Icon® procedure, the exact price you’ll pay will vary depending on many factors:

  • Where the procedure is performed (in a doctor’s office or a medical spa)
  • Who your provider is (e.g., a dermatologist, a plastic surgeon, or an esthetician)
  • How long your procedure takes place over, and how involved it is
